Pain of Grace: Living and Suffering with Dignity

Hello Friends! Crazy good news I want to share with you.

Twenty years ago, I started writing a book (by the prompting of Patrick Madrid) about my conversion story and all the God stories, graces and blessing that have helped me get through my illnesses. Most of the story was written back then in a whirlwind of God’s grace. But the inspiration of how to finish it never came so I put it all aside. About 10 years ago, I felt inspired to work on the book, editing it and cleaning it up quite a bit. I was encouraged to finish it by friends in the Catholic writing world. Again, no ending, no inspiration, nothing. About 6 months ago, I felt a stirring in my heart to pick up the project once again and this time, the ending came.

This weekend I signed a contract with EnRoute Publishing and my book will be published by the end of February, in time for Lent which seems quite fitting. My book is called Pain of Grace: Living and Suffering with Dignity. It is a difficult yet amusing intimate jaunt through my life. I’ll be keeping you all in the loop here and will be posting complete details and book excerpts, as well as other goodies (Fr. Chris and I have something fun that’ll be posted soon.) I encourage you to sign up to this blog on the home page if you haven’t already done so. That way you’ll be sure to have the most recent information about the book and where and when there will be presentations, book signings and more.

The blog will continue to post Deacon Bob’s homilies, as well as Fr. Chris’ information. There will be updates to this blog and a category heading specifically for the book. So, stay tuned.

I’m really excited to share this project, that has been close to my heart for years, with you! Please pray that those who are suffering, through reading my story, will grow closer to their Crucified and Risen Lord, Who alone can bring peace, understanding and grace through the crosses in our lives.
