Happy Feast Day of St. Mother Teresa!!!

I thought that today would be a good day to give you a sneak-peek into the 25th Anniversary Edition of Cloud of Witnesses – a treat for your eyes and ears. I am so excited that my saint books will be available once again for a whole new generation of Saints-in-Training. We have combined the 20 saint poems and pictures from Cloud of Witnesses I with those from Cloud of Witnesses II and added the story of Mother Teresa and Pope St. John Paul the Great, told in poems. Painting JP2 was something I’ve always wanted to do, and I really like how he turned out. He was a pleasure to paint! Mother T however, was a challenge!!! After trashing 2 paintings, I am so happy how she turned out. It was worth the struggle, as most things are in life.

As many of you know, 25 years is a long time, but in that time, I’ve become a better painter. (Or at least, I hope so.) In this new addition, I was able to tweak, re-paint and perfect some things that definitely needed fixing. I also was able to organize the 42 saints by feast day, so the book now works a little as a saint calendar. The pictures are brighter, many of the poems are longer and best yet, we were able to keep Cloud of Witnesses in a size that slips perfectly under pillows. I can’t tell you how many times throughout the years, parents have told me that their children keep my books under their pillows, so if they couldn’t sleep or had a disturbing dream, their friends, the saints would be ready to comfort them by picture or prose. Oh! And now all 42 saint poems are written in English and Spanish in the same book. (I’m told that the Spanish poem rhyme too so that is very cool!)
