St. Bernadette

A girl named Bernadette once lived
in France, in a town named Lourdes.
A friend taught her God’s lessons
while Bernadette did her chores.

Her family lived in poverty,
she was often ill.
Her father lost his job, he worked
at a local mill.

In 1858 one day,
Bernadette was 14 years old,
she saw a beautiful lady,
on whose feet were roses of gold.

This beautiful woman revealed herself
as the Woman: Immaculately Conceived,
then a stream miraculously appeared
so that Bernadette would soon be believed.

She told Bernadette to wash herself
in this special, holy water,
and now when we follow and do the same
there’ll be a gift from our Heavenly Father.

Some people receive true healings,
and others the gift to forgive,
but all will receive the graces
that Our Lord just loves to give.

Bernadette was grateful for her gift from the Lord,
and praised God for His love and His mother’s.
She entered a convent to live as a nun,
and thanked God, by praying for others.
