Saint Mary, Mother of our Lord,

with Him in heaven she resides,

she prays and helps her children,

and visits earth besides.

Under many titles Mary reveals

her vocation as our mother,

but when she appeared in Guadalupe

she asked us to respect each other.

To an Aztec Indian, she did appear,

Juan Diego was his name,

“Please stop this human sacrifice!”

boldly she proclaimed.

She taught his people of her God,

and on Juan’s cloak she placed,

a miraculous image of herself,

a message to the human race.

The Lord was growing in her womb,

tucked closely near her heart,

God asks us to love each life,

from its very start.

The  little ones we cannot see,

are as special as those grown.

God wants us to respect each life,

For their deaths we must atone!
